Merit making at Wat Phrabatnamphu
Few days ago, I and my family went to Lop Buri to make merit. Wat Phrabatnamphu is a famous temple when the former abbot received Magsaysay award a few years ago.
The temple is about 7 km east of the town and situated on the foot of a small limestone mountain, amid the vast field of blossomed sunflowers. It has been my intention for a few months to go to this famous temple which shelters a large number of terminally ill AIDS patients deserted by their relatives. Apart from donating Sangkha Dhana, we also donated some cash to buy foods and medicine, and coffins for the patients. We also visited the museum there which houses a number of bodies as a reminder of the norm of life: everyone must die some day.
